There are many places to go shopping. If you're still on the first stage, press P or ESC to go to the pause menu and then exit to the map. From there you can go to the first Hide-Out where you'll meet some of your buddies and you can buy stuff from them. Just walk up to any of them and if they have something to sell, they will offer it to you...
